An Oratory Competition was organised in the University of Allahabad on Dec 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM in MONIRBA to celebrate the birth anniversary of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India. The topic of the Oratory was “Use of Technology & Innovations in Promoting Good Governance”. A total of 12 contestants representing various faculties gave their speeches on the topic. Speakers highlighted the use of technology and innovations that has put India on the map of one of the fast progressing Nations. They underlined the contribution of Shri Vajpayee in setting the trend of Good Governance in the country. They emphasized the need to choose young students in the University and institutions with excellence to be the purveyors of technologies and innovations for acceleration of the pace of good governance in the country.
Prof. R. K. Singh, Incharge, Academic Programme made the inaugural remarks. Prof. N. R. Farooqi, Vice Chancellor, University of Allahabad, gave away the prizes and certificates to the contestants. The first, second and third prizes were won by Mr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey, Mr. Parakh Saxena and Ms. Amita Singh respectively. He thanked the organizers and students for having made an excellent presentation on the occasion. He recalled the great qualities of Shri Vajpayee’s personality as statesman, orator, thinker and a visionary. He exhorted the students to emulate the qualities of the great leader. Prof. B. P. Singh, Registrar, gave away the certificate of participation. The panel of judges comprised Prof. Anita Gopesh, Dr. Raju Parghi, and Dr. R. K. Anand. Prof. Gopesh gave a few significant tips to the students on sharpening their oratorical skills. Prof. Ajay Singhal, Coordinator of the event thanked the participants, judges & the guests for making this event a great success.
