Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Differently Abled Students

The centre was established on 14 November 2009 during the XIth Five Year Plan (2007-2012); Prof. R. K. Singh (Dean Student Welfare) was instrumental in the establishment of the centre. The centre was inaugurated by the ex-Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Rajen Harshe. It is located in the Senate house campus of the University at the ground floor of Indira Gandhi Social Science Complex. It works in conformity with the Higher Education for Person with Special Needs (HEPSN) Scheme of UGC.

The Centre is an enabling unit for the physically challenged students of the university. It is equipped with the state of art Multimedia Lab with Digital Technologies and software for these students. At present more than 100 students are enrolled with the centre. Recently on the World Disabled Day (December, 3, 2012) several mobility devices were distributed to the students to facilitate their access to higher education. The first Centre Coordinator was Dr. Sanjeev Kumar H.M.
